Jamshedpur: The second game of the World Chess Championship match between World Champion Vishwanathan Anand, playing the white pieces, and World No. 1 player Magnus Carlsen ended in a draw after 25 moves.

The crowd was pleased with the World Champ’s move that was awarded with applause. Carlsen replied with a sharp Caro Kann. It seemed to be an exciting fight with castling on opposite wing .

Then at a crucial juncture, Magnus offered to trade the queens which Anand accepted avoiding complications and the position’s tension vanished. It is clear the players are still cautiously prodding and studying each other.

Though it is hardly the first world championship match to have a slow start, the fans were hoping for more. The players expressed at the press conference that they’re also hoping for more spectacle. The score so far is 1-1 with 10 more games to go.
