Seraikela, March 19: Preparations for the upcoming Lok sabha election are in full swing with the issuance of notification for West Singhbhum, Khunti and Ranchi Lok Sabha constituencies.
A special team of election officials is visiting various areas to ensure that the Model Code of Conduct is not violated anywhere in the constituencies. This was informed today by the deputy commissioner of Seraikela-Kharsawan, Hansraj Singh.
The DC said election observers had been pressed into service for visiting Ichagarh and Seraikela to keep an eye on expenditure of candidates during election campaign. Observes have taken the field in Ichagarh and Seraikela. The team members will monitor the expenses and report to the administration and Election Commission, he said.
DC further said that people are being made aware to exercise their voting rights and cooperate with the administration in peaceful conduct of polls.
Vehicle acquisition process for the elections began today with district transport officer, Nilam Lata leading the process at Seraikela and Adityapur area.
The Seraikela district administration has taken the help of Chhau dancers to make voters aware. The DC flagged off the Chhau dance team for low turnout areas to make voters aware the importance of voting.
