Seraikela, March 5: District Commissioner and Electoral Officer of Seraikela, Hansraj Singh on Friday said that the elections will be held in three phases in Jharkhand, while for Seraikela district Election Commission has set April 17 as the date. Along with this in Giridih, Ranchi, Singhbhum (Chaibasa) and Khunti the election will be held on April 17. DC was talking to the media persons at his office on Wednesday. Hansraj Singh said that the notification at district level will be issued soon and also for buying and submission of notification. DC said that to make elections successful district and police administration have started their preparations and keeping security in mind tasks are being made. The district administration had already started the preparations as we already appointed Nodal officers.
Keeping elections in mind the banners, hoardings put up in different locations of the district will be removed. To have maximum turn out on polling day awareness program will be held specially for 18 to 20 years new voters.
DC further said that we will be writing a letter soon to the election commission to send the election materials as early as possible. The work of adding names and correcting them in Voter cards is in progress while after March 19 the work will be stopped. At the meeting SP Madan Mohan Lal and others were present.
