Chandil, Feb 23: An unidentified thief robbed a Sub Post Office of Rs 12 lakh seventy five thousand and 70 rupees on late Saturday night.

The Sub post office situated at Chauka More in Chandil area under Chauka Police Station has created a sense of fear among the locals as the CRPF Battalion Camp is just 300 meters from the post office and Police Station Bhavan is just a kilometer away from the spot from where the burglar took the cash by breaking the lock. The locals informed that this is the first time that an incident of theft took place.

After getting the information Sub Post Office employees and police officials reached the spot. During the investigation of the matter Police officials who was recording the statement of the Sub Post office employee said that the way he is telling about the incident is totally impossible and he has own made up the story.

During the investigation Post Master Sumeshwar Bhagat said that Rs twelve lakh seventy five thousand and 70 rupees were kept at a treasury which has been stolen. The post master filed a complaint against unidentified.
