Ranchi: UNICEF’s annual adolescent summit was organized in Ranchi today with support of Nav Bharat Jagriti Kendra (NBJK). Over 150 child reporters and teachers from 60 govt schools from Ranchi participated in the program.
Speaking during the programme, Chief Guest of the programme and member of the Jharkhand legislative Assembly, Dr Jitu Charan Ram said, “UNICEF’s Child Reporters program has provided children with a platform to express themselves and showcase their skills and creativity.
I applaud the Child Reporters for taking steps to end child marriage and child labour in their communities especially at such a young age. Protection and promotion of child rights is of utmost importance for overall development of our society.”
He added, “I am happy to see the growth in the confidence of these children. They are true ambassador of child rights. When they raise their voice against injustice and violation of child rights more people are inspired.”
