Ranchi: Jharkhand Mukti Morcha president and former Chief Minister Sibu Soren today claimed the Lok Sabha elections of 2014 was not going to be the last election of his political career.
Rubbishing claims of rival parties, he said he was least bothered by such comments as he was sure of his victory in the forthcoming elections. He was speaking to mediapersons at his residence in Khijuria of Dumka on Saturday.
Soren said he will be filing his nomination as a JMM candidate from Dumka on 31st March. He said the party had selected him for contesting the elections from Dumka. He said he had been MP of Dumka for seven times and hence was fully aware of the issues affecting the people of the region.
“It is going to be an election on the issues of development, education and unemployment. I am fully prepared for the elections,” said the veteran politician.
Expressing displeasure over the quitting of the party by several JMM leaders, he said the party was unaffected by those leaving it at the time of elections. He said leaving of the party by leaders and activists was a usual phenomenon.
Asked about the resentment expressed by Simon Marandi, he said the latter was upset over denial of ticket by the party to his son. He said those who had made up their mind to leave the party could not be stopped. He said the party will not go by the diktats of every single leader in the organization.
