Ranchi: The ambitious project of Tilaiya Ultra Mega Power Project (UMPP) located near Tilaiya village in Hazaribagh is being planned for generating additional power in the State.
Jharkhand Chief Secretary Ram Sevak Sharma said this today at a meeting with Energy Department while discussing the ambitious project at Project Building.
The director of Jharkhand Integrated Power Limited (JIPL)-cum-project head, UMPP, Balasubramanian Natarajan presented a report reviewing the progress of the Tilaiya power project.
He said the delay in physical possession of land for power plant was affecting its financial activities.
The Chief Secretary suggested that the land acquisition issue be solved as the delay in land transfer was impeding development activities.
The land needed for the plant belonged to private people, as well as to government and also comprised forest land. The Chief Secretary said prompt action must be taken from the concerned departments to resolve the issues he added.
