Government waives Rs 61.63 lakh lagan dues of Tana Bhagats
Ranchi: Chief Minister Raghubar Das today announced to charge the Tana Bhagats of the state only Rs 1 as token revenue on land. He also announced to waive the due amount of Rs 61.63 lakh lagan of Tana Bhagats.
The CM said that five Tana Bhagats had been nominated for the Tana Bhagat Development Authority. He further said that the Tana Bhagats Mukti Diwas program at Bero conducted on 30th August every year has been announced as state festival.
“The homeless Tana Bhagats will be given pucca houses and their mud houses will also be made pucca. A guest house for them will be made in Ranchi. Tana Bhagat district president will make the list of the houses,” said the CM.
Praising the Tana Bhagats, the CM said they had sacrificed a lot for the nation and that their descendants are still following Mahatma Gandhi. The Tana Bahgat Authority will take care of them. They will be given monthly pension also and it will be determined by Tana Bhagat Authority, he said.
The CM further added that Tana Bhagat women will be given four cows each on 90% subsidy. “The state government will purchase the produced milk. Tenth pass students will be admitted in Raksha Shakti School and appointed as policeman after one year. A separate skill development center will be opened for Tana Bhagats.
Women will be trained in bee keeping, blanket and towel making and made self sufficient. Agricultural equipments will be provided on subsidy and a separate hostel in Ranchi will be made for them. 9-10 children will be given coaching,” said the CM.
Das asked the district Tana Bhagat presidents to prepare a list and give them to the authorities. “Children aspiring for higher education will be given assistance from Chief Minister Fellowship Fund. The next meeting of the Tana Bhagats will be conducted in December and represented by Ganga Tana Bhagat, Ramdhan Tana Bhagat, Sri Ramchandra Tana Bhagat, Sarita Tana Bhagat and Bahadur Tana Bhagat. Well and pond will be dug as per the list given by the Tana Bhagats. The govt. will provide funds for their development,” he said.
The representatives of Ranchi, Gumla, Lohardaga, Latehar, Palamu, Simdega, Chatra and Khunti participated in the meeting.
