Ranchi: The 1st regional SIP Abacus brain contest was held at Tana Bhagat Stadium, Hotwar on Sunday on a grand scale.
Former IGP Amitabh Choudhary while inaugurating the event said that in his entire life till now, he had not seen such a mind boggling event.It was a learning process for him.
He said that Jharkhand had no dearth of talent as could be seen by the thousand odd children present here.
He added that who would have even ventured to guess that Jharkhand would produce a gem like Dhoni. He went on to add that Jharkhand was more beautiful as compared to Kashmir and Kerala.
Dinesh Victor, SIP Academy, M.D, said that the motto of the program was to help in increasing concentration, memory , speed , accuracy among children and overall skill development as well as to motivate the children for any competition in life.
He added that over 1000 students in the age group of 512 years are participating today. Of these 650 children are from Ranchi, 375 from Jamshedpur and 25 from Bokaro/Hazaribagh.
Nearly 2500 parents were present as visitors to the mega competition. This event would prove to be a milestone for the State as it has fabulous infra-structure to host such mega events.
Speaking about SIP Academy, Victor said that it was the Indian Arm of the Internationally acclaimed Organization , SIP ACADEMY SDN BHD , Malaysia, which conducts Skills based training program for kids to develop their mental potential.
The International Whole Brain Development Program which includes training in Abacus, Brain Gym & Speed Writing for the age group 7 to 12 years, is run in 17 countries across the World.
In India, more than 2 Lac Children have been trained through 560+ learning centers present in 21 states, he added. SIP Academy India has been organizing International, National and Regional competitions for children called “SIP PRODIGY” since 2004.
The SIP Prodigy competitions are covered in Limca Book of Records for 4 consecutive years said the MD and was hopeful of a repeat this year too. The competition was held in four levels with a time limit.
After the event a cultural show of dance & Magic show was organized to entertain the children while the results were being readied. Sujata Kaura anchored the program. All SIP officials were present.
