Ranchi: Villages are our foundation. Their development will ensure the overall development of the state. This is why the development of villages is the top priority of the state government. This was observed by Chief Minister Hemant Soren on Saturday during a conference of panchayat representatives held at Hockey Stadium, Morabadi.
Addressing the gathering, the CM said after a long time the three tier panchayat system had been implemented in the state. A chain of panchayat representatives had been formed in the state to take care of the development issues at village and panchayat level, he said.
The CM further stressed the need for cooperation between the legislative and executive organs of the government to ensure smooth progress of the state. He said the people too, should come forward and help the government realize its dreams.
Soren said the panchayat representatives had put forth various problems faced by them at village and panchayat level. Efforts are on to find an effective solution to the same, he said.
The CM said the government was doing its best to transfer power from different departments to the panchayats. Today power of five departments was handed down to panchayats. Earlier, power of nine departments had been transferred to panchayats, he said.
