Ranchi : The Jharkhand Agency for Promotion of Information Technology (JAPIT) will facilitate development of core-banking facility in postoffices in the state.
This will benefit national social assistance program for giving scholarship to students and MGNREGA workers for withdrawing wages through the micro-ATMs in the post offices, the Chief Secretary Shri. R. S. Sharma said this at the 11th State-level UID Implementation Committee (UIDIC) held today at the Project Building in which the officials of the Information Technology Department were present.
He said that manpower is needed for the back support to build up a sustainable model of this project. The Chief Secretary, who presided over the meeting laid stress on hiring technical support group at the state headquarters.
He suggested to include volunteers, sabbatical and intern policy in the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) Office. The enrollment stations for UID should be promoted. Chief Secretary emphasized on strengthening the network connectivity in the rural areas.
He said that by devising biometric attendance systems in the domains like- Education, Health, Labour, Welfare and other departments will result in a transparent system.
The Principal Secretary, IT Department, Shri. N.N. Sinha presented the UID enrolment status of Jharkhand and ratification of various decisions taken in anticipation of UIDIC.
