Ranchi : The 10thedition of the India’s largest and highest rated inter-collegiate business quiz- Tata Crucible Campus Quiz is back! This time the quiz will offer more excitement as it travels to 34 cities testing young minds battle it out amongst their peers.Nishant Nihar & Wasim Sajjad from NIT Rourkela emerged as winners in a neck to neck fight at the Ranchi regional round of the Tata Crucible Campus Quiz 2014.
The runners- up position was bagged by Bivash Rath Attreya & Sanket from VSSUT Burla. Dr. K. Vidyasagar, IAS, Principal Secretary, Dept. of Human Resources Development, Government of Jharkhand was the Chief Guest at the event and presented a cash prize of Rs. 100,000/-* to the winning team and Rs. 50,000/-* to the runners-up team. The Tata group, which has always believed in giving back to society, is endeavoring to inculcate the culture of philanthropy amongst participants of the Tata Crucible this year. The increase of Rs. 25,000 and Rs. 15,000 from the Regional Winners and Runners up prize respectively will be contributed directly to a charity of the team’s choice fulfilling specified conditions.
The Ranchi regional round of Tata Crucible Campus Quiz 2014 enjoyed an overwhelming response with 36 teams participating from colleges acrossRanchi. The top 6 teams of the quiz were selected after a preliminary written and a subsequent wild card round. The other four teams that qualified for the finals comprised winner Jubin Goyal & Jinson Chacko (IIM Ranchi), Saurav Mukhopadhyay & Abhishek Tripathy (IIM Ranchi), Kumar Samit & Sourav Ranu (ISM Dhanbad) and Kaushik Janga & Ms.Dhriti Nadir (BIT Mesra).
The city regional rounds will be followed by Zonal finals which will be organized in Mumbai (West zone), New Delhi (North zone), Kolkata (East zone) and Bengaluru (South zone).
The top two teams from each zone would battle it out for the Tata Crucible Campus Quiz 2014 title at the National Finals to be held in Mumbai in April, 2014. This will be followed by the International Finals where the winners and runners-up from the Indian edition of the quiz will compete with the winners and runner ups of the Singapore and UK editions, held earlier this financial year, to win the International Championship title.
