CM condoles accident deaths, announces compensation
Ranchi, April 10: Nine members of a marriage party were killed while six others were injured as a pick up van carrying them hit an under construction bridge on the NH-143 under Kamdara Police Station area in this district.
Police today said the incident took place around midnight last night when the vehicle carrying more than a dozen people was returning to Bangru Kolidamar village. The driver of the vehicle lost control due to which it hit the under construction bridge and over turned.
Such was the impact of the incident that seven people were killed on the spot while two others died while being treated at the local hospital. Six people were injured in the incident out of which three have been sent to RIMS Ranchi.
The deceased have been identified as Yoram Karketta, Vilson Baghwar, Iliyas Karketta, Oscar Ba, Nilebh Ba, Anmol Indevar, Kuldeep Horo, Ujjwa Dungdung and Binod Tirkey. Upon receiving information about the incident the Simdega DC and SP also reached on the spot.
Meanwhile Chief Minister Raghubar Das has announced a compensation of Rs 1 lakh for the kin of the deceased while he has ordered to provide adequate arrangements for the treatment of the deceased. Following the instructions of the Chief Minister the Simdega district administration has provided Rs 20,000 as immediate compensation for the kin of the family.
