CM inaugurates Payment Gateway
Ranchi: Jharkhand Chief Minister today said the state government was planning to take the modern Information Technology and its benefits to each and every village and panchayat of the state so that every individual could be involved in development.
He said so during the inauguration of the Payment Gateway for online payment in Ranchi.
In his address, Soren said there was a need to take modern technology to villagers and make the new techniques more accessible to the villagers so that the villagers could benefit from the government plans.
He said the government wanted each and every one to benefit from the plans and become a better individual. He said the government wanted the farmers and workers to get the benefits of new technology. He said more efforts need to be put in in this direction.
He said the government was trying its best to provide grants and financial assistance to the common man. The government did not only want to collect tax, but also to spend the money on the development of the state and welfare of the people.
Soren said the new facility will do away with the dependence of the people on middlemen. He said the facility will be of great help and convenience for the people of the state. He said the government had long term plans of development for the state. Hence the participation of the people is needed, he said.
The state transport minister Champai Soren was also present during the programme. He said there are around 33 lakh vehicles in the state. The collection of tax from so many vehicle owners is a huge tax that can be achieved rather smoothly with the help of e-payment gateway. He said the facility will help people get information about tax dues online either on computer or on mobile phones.
The Chief Secretary of Jharkhand Ram Sevak Sharma said the online payment gateway will pave way to a new era in governance. He said very soon e-PDS system will be started in the state. He said many more facilities will be started soon in the state.
Sharma said the government was providing Direct Benefit Transfer to as many as 5 lakh students from class VII to class X. The Principal Secretary of IT Department NN Sinha too, addressed the programme.
