Ranchi: Gujarat Chief Minister and Prime-ministerial candidate of Bharatiya Janata Party Narendra Modi will be kickstarting the election campaign of his party in Jharkhand tomorrow at Gumla. He will arrive at the Ranchi Airport around 10 am and leave for Gumla in a special flight.
Modi will address a public meeting at the Airport ground in Gumla around noon and leave for Chatra thereafter. He will address another public meeting at Baba Ghat ground in Chatra around 2.35 pm. Preparations for the twin public rallies of Modi are almost done with the BJP activists putting in last-minute efforts to make the programme a grand success, said the state vice president of BJP Anant Ojha.
In view of Modi’s proposed programmes, the superintendent of police Prashant Karn and the deputy commissioner Amit Kumar held several rounds of meeting with district administration officials to ensure security and peace during the rallies.
The BJP state vice president said the party activists had carried out intensive campaigning in villages for the upcoming programmes of Narendra Modi.
The state police authorities have also taken precautionary measures in view of Modi’s rallies as Maoists have called for a statewide bandh on 27th and 28th March in protest of killing of their six colleagues in Lakarmanda forest of Kunda police station area last year.
All police stations have been put on high alert and security arrangements have been tightened at various places in Gumla, Chatra, Ranchi and other parts of the state ahead of the VVIP arrival. Police and paramilitary jawans are conducting flag march in sensitive areas of the two districts in view of the rally and Maoist bandh.
