Ranchi: Union Minister for Rural Development Department Jai Ram Ramesh today launched the cadastral maps online at Project Building in the state Capital.
He said the mapping system would facilitate numerous uses for public including transparency in land transactions, easy availability of bank loans to land owners, generation of other necessary documents. He stressed use of modern technology through computerization for digitization of land records and also make mutation of lands on-line.
The lead programme under this plan has been named ‘Vasudha’.
Jharkhand Chief Secretary, RS Sharma said that cadastral mapping is a combination of textual and graphical maps. This provides for transparency and help completing the survey work of all the villages of the state in a time-bound manner, he added.
He said that anyone could access it on the website of Department of Revenue & Land Reforms through the jharkhand.gov.in.
The Principal Secretary, Revenue Department, JB Tubid said that the department has taken up this programme as a pilot project. He put presented to the Union Minister the major issues of this project. The Minister has agreed for holding a meeting at Delhi to resolve the issues.
The Union Minister mentioned about the initiative of the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of India (CBCI) to build a thousand bedded hospital in and around the Ranchi city. Chief Secretary agreed to provide a portion of land that is being acquired for Knowledge city near Khunti.
After the Principal Secretary, Road Construction Department talked of several difficulties concerning the maintenance of existing roads and also construction of new roads, the Union Minister directed the NHAI to meet the requirements and settle the matter and resolve the subjects of concern.
