Jamshedpur/Ranchi, July 21: Six people died of Coronavirus in Jharkhand on Tuesday while record 432 positive cases were reported in the state in a single day.
The death toll in Jharkhand stands at 61 while corona positive tally has climbed to 6253.
Two deaths each were reported from Seraikela-Kharsawan and East Singhbhum district while one case each came up from Dhanbad and Ranchi.
Four deaths were reported in Jamshedpur’s TMH. A 10-month baby who was admitted at Tata Main Hospital succumbed to the deadly virus. The baby hailed from Adityapur of neighbouring Seraikela Kharswan district. Another person who died was 45-year-old man from Dhatkidih in Seraikela. The third death in Jamshedpur reported at TMH was of a 65-year-old woman from Kadma who was admitted to the hospital with breathing problems on July 5. She tested positive for the virus on Tuesday morning while she died in the afternoon. 55-year-old man from Sonari succumbed to the virus at TMH on Tuesday evening.
TMH has witnessed 19 deaths so far including 14 from Jamshedpur, 2 from West Singhbhum’s Chaibasa, 1 from Jamadoba in Dhanbad and 1 from Seraikela-Kharsawan’s Adityapur and 1 from Dhatkidih in Seraikiela.
In Jamshedpur the COVID-19 tally is nearing a thousand mark.
With 69 new cases reported on Tuesday, July 21, the total cases in East Singhbhum district stands at 991. 47 cases were reported in the district on July 20 while July 7 saw maximum cases being reported in single day in Jamshedpur with 58 positives.
The district administration spokesperson informed that 69 corona positives have been identified in the East Singhbhum district on Tuesday.
All the positives have been admitted to COVID-19 wards.
For eight days in a row 200 cases have been reported every single day.
Other Jharkhand positive cases were reported from Bokaro 2, Chatra 10, Deoghar 7, Dhanbad 16, Dumka 1, East Singhbhum 69, Garhwa 4, Giridih 10, Godda 35, Gumla 5, Hazaribagh 10, Khunti 2, Koderma 5, Latehar 19, Lohardaga 8, Pakur 65, Palamu 7, Ramgarh 10, Ranchi 106, Sahebganj 17, Seraikela 12, Simdega 1 and West Singhbhum 11 taking the state corona tally to 6253.
Recently, more than 200 cases are being reported in the state every day. In the month of July the corona mark crossed 300 twice in the month of July. 289 cases came up on July 18. On Tuesday, July 21 positive cases came up from 23 of the 24 districts of Jharkhand.
The number of active COVID-19 cases in the state is 3192 and fatalities at 61 while 2942 people have recovered and discharged from the hospital. 2245 corona patients tested positive are migrant workers who returned to Jharkhand after May 1.
The first case of the pandemic was reported from Hindpiri on March 31, when a 22-year-old Malaysian woman, who had been to Delhi’s Tablighi Jamaat congregation, tested positive. She has since been discharged after being recorded from the dreaded disease. East Singhbhum district accounts for 991 cases out of a total of 6253. The state has imposed lockdown till July 31. Religious places, malls, saloon, spas, schools, colleges will remain closed till July 31.
