Ranchi : Chief Minister Raghubar Das said that education must enhance employability among the youths.
The education must be such that it helps provide livelihood to the unemployed. Skill-based education system and entrepreneurial development progrmmes are to be followed so that the educated unemployed secure jobs.
Raghubar Das was addressing at the program titled ‘National University Student Skill Development’ organized by Ranchi University as chief guest.
He said that the students must hone their talent and develop skills so that they get employment. Developing skills among youths would help to bring back misguided youths into national mainstream, he said.
The CM said that the State Government is working seriously towards development of Jharkhand. The State has a huge workforce; the only area that is still lagging behind is developing skills to enhance employability in job aspirants.
He said that the government would hold discussions on skill development with the corporate world, Public sector undertakings and the intellectuals.
“There are many industry houses willing to invest in Jharkhand. I have told them to set up their enterprises in Jharkhand provided they engage our skill workforce,” Raghubar Das said.
On the occasion the CM distributed medals and certificates to the students who had topped in NSS activities. About 272 students received awards from the chief guest.
Concurring views of CM, the guest of honor Arun Kumar Singh said that 32 percent of State’s total population belongs to the age group 18-35 years, but the State lacks in skill development.
Chancellor of Ranchi University Prof LN Bhagat, and vice chancellor, M Raziuddin were present among others.
