Ranchi, Jan 31: Chief Secretary R S Sharma suggesting a holistic approach to capacity building activities, today directed the Panchayati Raj Department to work out on the training sites and to present a detailed progress plan of the Backward Region Grant Fund (BRGF).
He said that the on-going training centres should be strengthened.
The Chief Secretary was speaking at the meeting of the State High Level Steering Committee of the BRGF at the Project Building.
Chief Secretary said that the BRGF Programme consists of two funding windows namely, development fund and capacity-building fund.
This grant is meant for redressing regional imbalances in development. He said that capacity building is a continuous process for training people at different level and arranging trainers to train the trainees.
Principal Secretary Panchayati Raj L. Khiangte at the meeting presented the status of fund received under the BRGF for capacity building grant. He also briefed about the strategy for implementation of training and its allied activities.
Development Commissioner Sudhir Prasad, Principal Secretary Planning and Development Dr. D.K. Tiwari, , Urban Development Secretary A.K. Singh, , Housing Secretary Aradhana Patnaik along with other officials were present during the meeting.
