Ranchi: The body of martyred CRPF jawan Pradip Kumar, killed in a Naxalite attack in Chhatisgarh, was taken to Kute Gaon on Thursday. Tributes were paid to the CRPF constable who was killed in the Naxalite attack.
Chief Minister Hemant Soren visited the village along with many CRPF jawans and state administration officials and paid homage to late Kumar.
The deceased CRPF jawan was killed in the attack on police party at Sukma when the cops had gone there to open a closed-off route. Jawans of Battalion 80 were attacked all of a sudden by armed Naxalites who rounded up all the jawans in a bid to ambush them.
The wife of the martyred jawan, Asha Rani, said his husband was expecting his transfer in Ranchi. He had been in Chhatishgarh for the last three years. He had gone on duty on 10th January. He joined CRPF in 1992.
