Ranchi: Chief Minister Raghubar Das has ordered an immediate ban on illegal mining and trade of iron ore, coal and other minerals in Jharkhand.
He also issued orders for immediate suspension of such officials who would be found involved in illegal mining and trade. He made it clear that interference of any kind would not be tolerated while taking necessary action to the effect.
The chief minister was addressing a crucial meeting of senior officials organized at Shree Krishna Public Administrative Institute here today. Chief Secretary, secretary of Home, IG, deputy commissioners of all districts, police supers and senior administrative officials participated in the meeting.
Raghubar Das said officials and government employees found involved in illegal mining and trading would be given voluntary retirement, as transfer is no solution.
Das on the occasion made appeal to the senior officials to return their bodyguards on their own as the State is facing acute crunch of security personnel. Such personnel could be deputed for security of the common man, he said. He maintained that only those persons having genuine security threat may be given security cover if recommended by the CID.
Addressing the senior officials Raghubar Das said that Jharkhand had been going through a phase of turmoil in recent years. But now as Jharkhand has got a majority government it must come up to the expectations of the people, he said.
The CM maintained that the State has experienced and committed officials and it is their responsibility to give transparent governance. He urged the police and administrative officials to work without any fear and they need not accept any interference while rendering their official duty. He urged the officials to work with team spirit.
Positive suggestions by the officials would be incorporated for better governance, he said.
Raising the issue of law and order problem the CM stressed on the need of lodging of FIRs at the police stations, carrying out proper investigations to crack crimes and strengthening of vigilance network.
He said that development of Jharkhand would remain incomplete if security is not provided to people at large. The CM on the occasion that creating of new posts and filling up of vacancies in Police force would be looked into with seriousness.
The CM also ordered arrangements of adequate security to the visitors at tourist destinations including Parasnath and Deoghar.
