Ranchi: The general secretary of All India Congress Committee (AICC) and in-charge of Jharkhand BK Hari Prasad today held a meeting with the party ministers of the state Cabinet and assigned each of the five ministers the responsibility of two Parliamentary seats.
The meeting was presided over by the state Congress president Sukhdev Bhagat. It was held at the party headquarters in the state Capital. Hari Prasad gave instructions to the party officials and advised them to shun making public statements.
Speaking to mediapersons, he said Congress was yet to determine the Lok Sabha constituencies where it would be fielding candidates in the elections.
He said the party will be fielding candidates on 10 Lok Sabha seats while Jharkhand Mukti Morcha will be fielding candidates on the remaining four seats.
Hari Prasad further said that the state Congress will be issuing a notification regarding its seat allocation within a week.
He said the committee for election will be announced after due consultation with the party supremo Sonia Gandhi.
Replying to a question over Narendra Modi’s proposed visit, Hari Prasad said the Congress worked on a definite policy and was least affected by Modi and his likes.
He said there were no differences between the allies of the state government led by Chief Minister Hemant Soren.
