Jamshedpur/Ranchi, June 30: Coronavirus case in Jharkhand is nearing 2500 with 63 new positives reported on Tuesday, June 30. With 63 new cases on Tuesday, state corona tally has reached 2493.

In Jamshedpur the COVID-19 tally has risen to 395 with 14 new cases reported on June 30.  The district administration spokesperson informed that 14 corona positives have been identified in the East Singhbhum district on Tuesday.

Of the 14 positives in Jamshedpur, 3 have travel history to Delhi while one has returned from USA. Nine positives are resident of Kadma while one each positive comes from Sankosai, Mango, Baridih, Potka and Parsudih.

All the positives have been admitted to COVID-19 ward.

On Tuesday, 4 patients have recovered in the East Singhbhum district. 2 patients were discharged from TMH and 2 from MGM Hospital’s COVID-19 ward.  

Of the 4 discharged two persons are from Musabani while one each resides at Sonari and Musabani.

Other positives in Jharkhand are from Seraikela 25, Dhanbad 14, Sahebganj 3, Deoghar 2, one each from Bokaro, Dumka, Giridih, Ramgarh and Ranchi taking the state corona tally to 2493.

The number of active COVID-19 cases in the state is 591 and fatalities at 15 while 1884 people have recovered and discharged from the hospital. Seven deaths were reported in Ranchi, two each in Bokaro and Hazaribag and one each in Giridih, Gumla, Koderma and Simdega.

1974 corona patients tested positive are migrant workers who returned to Jharkhand after May 1.

The first case of the pandemic was reported from Hindpiri on March 31, when a 22-year-old Malaysian woman, who had been to Delhi’s Tablighi Jamaat congregation, tested positive. She has since been discharged after being recorded from the dreaded disease. East Singhbhum district accounts for 395 cases out of a total of 2493. The state has imposed lockdown till July 31. Religious places, malls, saloon, spas, schools, colleges will remain closed till July 31.
