Jamshedpur/Ranchi, July 6: Coronavirus cases in Jharkhand have crossed 2850 mark with 51 new cases reported on Monday, July 6. With 51 new cases the state tally has risen to 2866.
In Jamshedpur the COVID-19 tally has reached the tally of 529. With 24 new cases reported on Monday, July 6 the total cases in East Singhbhum district stands at 529.
The district administration spokesperson informed that 24 corona positives have been identified in the East Singhbhum district on Monday. Earlier on Saturday, 21 positives were reported in Jamshedpur along with two casualties in Sonari and Sakchi area of the Steel City.
Of the 24 new positives in Jamshedpur, 7 persons have a travel history to Thane, 2 have returned from Ahmedabad, 1 from Qatar, 10 from Buxar.
Of the new cases in Jamshedpur on Monday, 10 positives are from Telco area, 1 from Bagbera, 1 Baharagora, 1 Sonari, 6 Chakulia, 1 Mango, 2 Ghatsila, 1 Palamu and 1 from Jojobera taking the district tally to 529. All the positives have been admitted to COVID-19 ward.
Other positives in Jharkhand are from Seraikela 4, Ranchi 10, Palamu 1, Lohardaga 2, Latehar 1, Koderma 2, Hazaribagh 4 and Chatra 3 taking the state positive tally to 2866.
On Monday, 18 patients have recovered in East Singhbhum district of which 12 were discharged from TMH and 6 from MGM COVID-19 ward.
One of the recovered people 1 is a resident of Huladbani, 1 from Mango, 2 from Tinplate, 1 from Chakulia, 5 from Baharagora, 3 from Dumaria, 1 from Kadma, 3 from Golmuri and 1 from Asansol (West Bengal)
The number of active COVID-19 cases in the state is 766 and fatalities at 20 while 2068 people have recovered and discharged from the hospital. 2109 corona patients tested positive are migrant workers who returned to Jharkhand after May 1.
The first case of the pandemic was reported from Hindpiri on March 31, when a 22-year-old Malaysian woman, who had been to Delhi’s Tablighi Jamaat congregation, tested positive. She has since been discharged after being recorded from the dreaded disease. East Singhbhum district accounts for 529 cases out of a total of 2866. The state has imposed lockdown till July 31. Religious places, malls, saloon, spas, schools, colleges will remain closed till July 31.
Earlier on July 4, in a single day the state has recorded its highest number of casualties as four people died due to Coronavirus on Saturday. Out of these 4, two have died in RIMS while two others passed away in Tata Main Hospital in Jamshedpur.
Overall death caused due to Coronavirus in Jharkhand has now increased to 20. Two corona positive each died in Bokaro and Giridih, one each in Gumla, Sahebganj, Koderma and Simdega, 3 in Hazaribagh, 4 in Ranchi.
