Culprits make video of wrongdoings

Ranchi, Jan 14: Police have arrested ten boys in connection with the gang rape of a class 10 student near Kamde Ashram in Ranchi.

Investigation is on and the arrested are being interrogated by the police. According to Ranchi SSP, Bhimsen Tuti the boys have been arrested from different areas of the city and are being questioned in accordance with the incident.

It may be noted that a standard X girl was gangraped in the state Capital. The accused persons, eight in number, had alleged made a video recording of the gangrape. According to the police they tried to upload it on the web.

Sources said the victim, Shanti (changed name), a resident of Pisca More area, had gone out of her house yesterday for her tuition classes.

She however went to a nearby temple with her friend, a boy, whose friends had allegedly planned to gangrape the girl. His friends were already there at the scene.

The accused persons possessed arms. They reportedly took the girl at gunpoint and outraged her modesty while preparing a video film of the crime. After around three hours, they fled the scene.

The victim somehow reached home and informed her parents about the incident. Her family members went to Ratu police station with the complaint.

They were asked to report to the Pandara police station as the crime scene reportedly fell under Pandara police station area. The FIR was lodged much later.

Senior police officials were tipped off about the incident. The FIR was finally lodged in the Pandara police station. The superintendent of police, city, reached the police station and inquired about the incident from the family members of the victim.

The victim was sent to the Sadar Hospital for a medical examination and treatment. Cops also suspect the role of the victim’s friend in the crime. An investigation is on into the incident.

President of Jharkhand Pradesh Mahila Congress Committee, Abha Sinha condemned the incident and said that this type of episodes makes us ashamed.
