Ranchi: Leaders of United Progressive Alliance (UPA) partners, Congress, Rashtriya Janata Dal and Jharkhand Mukti Morcha huddled to formulate strategy for the Lok Sabha elections in the state here in the Capital on Thursday.

Strict implementation of the agreement among the three parties for seat sharing across the 14 Lok Sabha constituencies in the Parliamentary elections was iterated by the leaders.

Presiding over the meeting, the state Congress president Sukhdev Bhagat said all allies of the UPA-led government had decided to intensify campaign in each of the 14 Lok Sabha constituencies to ensure victory of their respective candidates.

“We have decided to make available the names and contact numbers of all leaders and activists of the three parties to each of the parties so that direct contact with the local leaders could be ensured during election campaigns. This will ensure smooth and fast campaigning in all the constituencies,” the Congress leader said.

The meeting was also attended by veteran Congress leader, former minister and Parliamentary candidate of Congress party from Ranchi Subodhkant Sahay. He too, underlined the importance of mutual cooperation among the alliance partners before and during the polls.

It was decided during today’s meeting to organize a state level meeting of RJD, Congress and JMM to make further election strategy. A meeting of party activists will be held at Celebration Hall in Ranchi on 23rd March. Activists of the three parties will together participate in election campaign with the flag and symbol of their respective organization.

Among others present during today’s meeting included Supriyo Bhattacharya, Vinod Pandey, Ashok Kumar Singh, Antu Tirkey, Dr Manoj Kumar, Ramkumar Yadav, Mustafa Ansari, Anil Singh, Dr Shailesh SInha and Rajesh Yadav.
