Jamshedpur : State Bank of India’s chief general manager (Patna Circle) Rakesh Sharma today inaugurated a Wildlife Healthcare Centre, the first-of-its-kind in eastern India, at Tata Steel Zoological Park. SBI has sponsored Rs 7.55 lakh for the centre.
He assured that the SBI would continue to extend its support to the zoo. The SBI has adopted the black deer enclosure for some years now.
The 450sqft centre comprises an operating theatre (OT), shadow-less lamps, tranquillising gun, oxygen cylinders, auto-clay machine and anaesthetic gadgets.
With its becoming operational Tata Zoo will be able to extend timely veterinary intervention in treating wild animals in distress in Kolhan region, disease investigation and treatment thus reducing mortalities in wild animals both in captivity and in wild.
