Ranchi: Notification for the first phase election going to be held at the four seats of Lok Sabha in Chatra, Kodarma, Palmu and Lohardagga, on 10th April was issued on Saturday by the Election Commission of India.
Not a single candidate filed nomination on the first day today. This was informed today by the chief election officer of Jharkhand PK Jajoria.
Sources in the state Election Commission said no report of any candidate filing the nomination papers had been received today from anywhere in Jharkhand.
They said an instruction had been issued by the ECI to spread awareness among the voters through Doordarshan and Akashvani under the Matdaata Jagrukta Abhiyan. This campaign will be launched free of cost by the two government broadcast channels.
