Jamshedpur: Much awaited “Hola-Mahalla” sports event is all set to be held in the city on March 30 at the Mani Mela ground. This would be the 2nd edition of the sporting event of this type. This was jointly informed by Jaswant Singh Jassu and Gursharan Singh active members of Sikh religious organisation Dharam Prachar Committee (DPC), Jamshedpur.
Jaswant Singh Jassu informed that Dharam Prachar Committee has organised a meeting on March 27 with members for conducting this sporting event successfully. Active member of the committee Gursharan Singh said however they have shortlisted selective athletics event but they have also decided to stage some more fun games for the participating children to add the zing.
Harmeet Singh said all Gurdwara committees had been informed personally as well as through posters. A Sikh community member Bibi Manpreet Kaur said the purpose behind organising the forthcoming sports event is to apprise the next generation about Sikh culture and history. The sporting event will kick off at 7 am on March 30 wherein 80, 50 metre race, hurdle and relay race, sack race and other fun games will be organised. Winners of the sporting events will be awarded on the day of Baisakhi at Sakchi.
The meeting was chaired by Bibi Manpreet Kaur while General Secretary of Bistupur Gurdwara sahib Ravindrapal Singh joined the meeting. Besides that Jaswant Singh Jassu, Gursharan Singh, Gurpreet Singh, Jagatjeet Singh, Mandeep Singh, Gurvindra Singh, Baljeet Sansoa, Komal Kaur, Mandeep Kaur, Amrit Kaur, Jaspreet Singh and Jivanjot Singh also took part in the meeting.
