Jamshedpur, June 2: An irked youth set his motorcycle
on fire when, in spite of having all documents of the two wheeler, the cops at the Mango Chowk checkpost demanded a fine of Rs 700 on Tuesday, June 2.


The youth, Rajendra Singh, a resident of New Kumrum Basti was proceeding to the Sitaramdera Bus Terminus where he is reportedly engaged in cleaning buses. When the motor-cycle was set alight by an irritated Rajendra Singh, the fire
brigade was summoned by the time it arrived the bike had been completely charred. Rajendra Singh has been taken to the police station.

Rajendra Singh stated that he was on his way to the bus ter-minus when he was stopped at the Mango Chowk checkpost by police personnel on duty. He said he had his helmet and mask on and showed all the documents of the vehicle that were demanded.

He said he was in a hurry and requested the police to let him go. They insisted on penalizing him in spite of providing all documents. He was also wearing his face mask and helmet.

When the police insisted on taking a fine of Rs 700 and was cutting a challan for the amount, Rajendra Singh said he got infuriated and in anger set fire to his bike.
