Jamshedpur, July 1: Coronavirus case in Jharkhand has crossed 2500 with 36 new positives reported on Wednesday, July 1. With 36 new cases on Tuesday, state corona tally has reached 2526.

In Jamshedpur the COVID-19 tally has risen to 404 with 9 new cases reported on July 1. The district administration spokesperson informed that 9 corona positives have been identified in the East Singhbhum district on Wednesday.

Of the 9 positives in Jamshedpur, 2 have travel history to Ahmedabad, one person has returned from Gaya and three others have come back from Odisha.

2 positives are resident of Ghatsila, 1 Ghagidih Jail, 3 are from Kadma while one each positive have come up from Sonari, Parsudih and Old Sonari.

All the positives have been admitted to COVID-19 ward.

On Wednesday, 13 patients have recovered in the East Singhbhum district. 13 patients were discharged from TMH COVID-19 ward.  

Of the 13 discharged two persons are from Ghatsila, 2 from Baridih, while one each resides at Jugsalai, Zakirnagar, Azadnagar, Jawaharnagar in Mango, Bagbera, Kadma, Telco, Sidhgora and Musabani.  

Other positives in Jharkhand are from Bokaro 1, Dhanbad 6, Dumka 1, Garhwa 4, Godda 1, Gumla 1, Hazaribagh 5, Khunti 1, Lohardaga 1, Pakur 2, Ranchi 2, Sahebganj 2 taking the state corona tally to 2526.  

The number of active COVID-19 cases in the state is 579 and fatalities at 15 while 1931 people have recovered and discharged from the hospital. Seven deaths were reported in Ranchi, two each in Bokaro and Hazaribag and one each in Giridih, Gumla, Koderma and Simdega.

2001 corona patients tested positive are migrant workers who returned to Jharkhand after May 1.

The first case of the pandemic was reported from Hindpiri on March 31, when a 22-year-old Malaysian woman, who had been to Delhi’s Tablighi Jamaat congregation, tested positive. She has since been discharged after being recorded from the dreaded disease. East Singhbhum district accounts for 404 cases out of a total of 2526. The state has imposed lockdown till July 31. Religious places, malls, saloon, spas, schools, colleges will remain closed till July 31.
