Jamshedpur/Ranchi, August 7: Eleven people died of coronavirus in Jharkhand on Friday, August 7 taking the toll to 156.
Two deaths were reported from Hazaribagh, 6 from Jamshedpur while one corona patient each died of the virus in Ramgarh, Dhanbad, Palamu and Ranchi while 670 fresh cases were reported in the state on Friday taking the state tally to 16534.
809 people recovered and were discharged from various COVID hospital’s across the state.
In Jamshedpur the COVID-19 tally has crossed 2600 mark.
108 new cases were reported on Friday, August 7 taking the East Singhbhum tally to 2655.
The district administration spokesperson informed that 108 corona positives have been identified in the East Singhbhum district on Friday. All the positives have been admitted to COVID-19 wards.
Other Jharkhand positive cases were reported from Bokaro 26, Cahtra 23, Deoghar 15, Dhanbad 59, East Singhbhum 108, Garhwa 5, Giridih 109, Godda 3, Gumla 4, Hazaribagh 53, Khunti 10, Koderma 5, Latehar 2, Lohardaga 12, Palamu 4, Ramgarh 24, Ranchi 160, Sahebganj 19, Seraikela 16, Simdega 8 and West Singhbhum 5. The state corona tally has crossed 16000 mark.

The death toll in Jharkhand stands at 156 while corona positive tally has climbed to 16534.
The first case of the pandemic was reported from Hindpiri on March 31, when a 22-year-old Malaysian woman, who had been to Delhi’s Tablighi Jamaat congregation, tested positive. She has since been discharged after being recorded from the dreaded disease. The state has imposed lockdown till July 31. Religious places, malls, saloon, spas, schools, colleges will remain closed till July 31.
The Jharkhand government has ordered an extension of lockdown related restrictions in the state outside containment zones, up to August 31, due to COVID-19 cases.
The order will come into effect from August 1. Meanwhile, Jharkhand government issued measures for the implementation of interstate quarantine protocol, to all Additional Chief Secretary, DGP, Principal Secretary, IG and Deputy IG.
The order said that “All economic activities permitted prior to this order shall remain permitted.”
The number of active COVID-19 cases in the state is 8840 and fatalities at 156 while 7491 people have recovered and discharged from the hospital. 2245 corona patients tested positive are migrant workers who returned to Jharkhand after May 1.
