Jamshedpur, Sept. 17: Coronavirus cases had crossed eleven thousand mark in Jamshedpur with 184 new cases reported on Thursday, September 17.

Positive tally has climbed to 11156 while the death toll climbed to 281 with 5 deaths on Thursday.  

263 people recovered of the virus on Thursday taking the total recovery to 8324 while total active cases in Jamshedpur are 2551. The district administration spokesperson informed that 184 corona positives have been identified in the East Singhbhum district on Thursday. East Singhbhum district administration has conducted 58855 test per million. The mortality rate in East Singhbhum stands at 2.5 % while recovery rate is 75.9%.

With a total of 1026 fresh cases of Coronavirus being detected across the state on Thursday the overall tally of Covid-19 patients in Jharkhand has crossed 67,100.

During the day 11 deaths were also reported in the state. 5 from Jamshedpur, 2 each from Dhanbad and Ranchi and one each from Dumka and West Singhbhum succumbed to the virus on Thursday.  

On Thursday a maximum number of 209 cases were found in Ranchi followed by 184 in East Singhbhum, 117 in Hazaribagh, 25 in Seraikela-Kharsawan, 59 in West Singhbhum.

A total of 1450 number of people were also cured and discharged from various dedicated Covid19 facilities during the day including 446 in Ranchi and 263 in Jamshedpur. Positive tally in Jharkhand has climbed to 67100 while death toll has reached 590 including 11 deaths on Thursday. 52807 people have recovered in the state while total active cases is 13703.

The first case of the pandemic was reported from Hindpiri on March 31, when a 22-year-old Malaysian woman, who had been to Delhi’s Tablighi Jamaat congregation, tested positive. She has since been discharged after being recorded from the dreaded disease.

The Jharkhand government has extended the coronavirus pandemic-triggered lockdown in containment zone in the state till September 30. However, all the economic activities in the state are allowed outside containment zones.

The hotels, dharmshala, lodge and guest houses reopened after around 6 months following SOPs and guidelines of the government. Restaurants and shopping malls also resumed after a long time.
