Jamshedpur/Ranchi, June 26: Jharkhand coronavirus cases are crossed 2300 with 45 new positives reported on Saturday, June 26. The number of Covid-19 cases was around 600 in the first week of the month. With 45 new cases on Saturday state corona tally has reached 2339. In Jamshedpur the COVID-19 tally has risen to 363 with 10 new cases reported on June 27. The district administration spokesperson informed that 10 corona positives have been identified including 5 men and 5 woman.
Of the 10 positives in Jamshedpur, 3 have travel history to Chennai, 3 has returned from Howrah, 2 from Delhi and one each from Faridabad and Hyderabad.
Three of the positives are resident of Bahragora, 3 from Dumaria, 2 from Telco, and one each from Potka and baridih. All the positives have been admitted to COVID-19 ward.
Two positives in Telco includes a Tata Motors employee and his wife. East Singhbhun Civil Surgeon Dr Maheshwar Prasad confirmed about the detection of Tata Motors worker and his wife. The couple has been admitted to Tata Motors Hospital COVID-19 ward.
On Saturday, 9 patients have recovered in the East Singhbhum district. Five persons were discharged from TMH and four from MGM Hospital. Of the 9 discharged one is from Burmamines, two from Chakulia, one from Bahragora, 3 from Mousabani, one each from Potka amd Jemco.
Other positives in Jharkhand are from Bokaro 5, Chatra 2, Deoghar 1, Dhanbad 1, Giridih 1, Gumla 5, Hazaribagh 3, Koderma 1, Ranchi 3, Sahebganj 2 and Seraikela 11 taking the state corona tally to 2339.
Till Saturday, Jharkhand has a total of 2339 cases of coronavirus. 1724 of the infected have recovered and discharged. The number of active COVID-19 cases in the state stands at 683 and fatalities at 12. Four deaths were reported in Ranchi, two each in Bokaro and Hazaribag and one each in Giridih, Gumla, Koderma and Simdega.
1914 corona patients tested positive are migrant workers who returned to Jharkhand after May 1.
The first case of the pandemic was reported from Hindpiri on March 31, when a 22-year-old Malaysian woman, who had been to Delhi’s Tablighi Jamaat congregation, tested positive. She has since been discharged after being recorded from the dreaded disease. East Singhbhum district accounts for 363 cases out of a total of 2339. The state has imposed lockdown till July 31. Religious places, malls, saloon, spas, schools, colleges will remain closed till July 31.
