Jamshedpur, Dec. 19: The prelims of ‘Wheels 2019’, biggest techno-cultural fest for the dynamic youth of Jamshedpur, began today.
Excited participants in large number arrived at the venues much before the start of the events. Around 6000 talented youths turned up on day 1 of the prelims.
‘Swara- the solo singing competition’ at the Engineer’s Hall (Badminton Court) also attracted large number of participants who displayed their singing talent.
At ‘Yogathon’ participants had to perform yoga and suryanamskar with different structure formation along with music.
‘Step Up & Scrap Up’ event at Engineers Hall (Mess) saw participants use all of their engineering prowess and intellect to create machines out of trash.
‘Innovatory Technophilia’ was held at Management Training Centre were participants indulged in paper presentation event where an individual or a team selected any topic of their choice, did some research, collected as much data regarding the same from different sources, compiled it together in a brief manner and finally presented it in front of the judges in your own innovative style.
‘Flash’ relay race saw boys and girls of class 5th to 8th and class 9th to 12th participate at Telco Ground.
Gaming events including Counter Strike, NFS, Wheel Premier League (Cricket) and Novelty Soccer league were also held.
Total of eight venues were made for the first day of the prelims.
The prelims will conclude on December 22 followed by Marathon that will take place on 23rd of December 2018 with the underlying agenda of taking a pledge for sustainable use of ‘ENVIRUNMENT-Let’s Paryavaran’.
This year the theme for 32nd edition of Wheels is “ANKURAN-Nurturing Innovations”. Organised by the Graduate Engineer Trainee (G.E.T) Club, the finals of ‘Wheels 2019’ will take place from 11th to 13th January, 2019.
