Jamshedpur: In tragic road mishaps three persons were killed and as many were injured in two separate road mishaps on Tata-Chaibasa state highway under Rajnagar police station area in the adjoining Seraikela-Kharsawan district about 25 kms away from here this morning.

When one of the mishaps, a five-year-old boy died on the spot that took place along Baraguti village at wee hours of Tuesday, another mishap resulted in two persons to die on the spot and three others injured at Hessel.

The five-year-old who was killed was identified as Santosh Hansda, son of Rishi Hansda, a resident of Hatiadih in Bodam police station area. The other two mishap victims were identified Nityanand Das (45) and Bhakto Das (52), both residents of Ichagarh and Chandil area under Rajnagar Police Station in the Seraikela-Kharsawan district.

The injured were rushed to Sadar Hospital at Khasmahal. From the Sadar Hospital the trio were shifted to MGM Medical College Hospital and finally to Tata Main Hospital. Condition of all the three injured is said to be serious as they have sustained head injuries.

OC, Rajnagar police station, Jitendra Kumar Singh said that in the first mishap a car hit a stationary dumper along the Hessel village. He said Rishi Hansda along with his family were returning Bodam by travelling in a car after attending a function at a relative’s house in Ghodamara village in Rajnagar.

In other mishap, a group of five jagran singers were travelling in an auto-rickshaw having finished a ritual at a house in Hessel village. A speeding mini-truck which was coming from the opposite direction hit the auto-rickshaw. In the mishap two persons were killed on the spot and remaining three sustained grievous injuries.

The driver of the auto-rickshaw escaped unhurt as he had jumped out of the vehicle just before the mishap took place.
