Jamshedpur: On the seventh and concluding day of Srimad Bhagwat Katha at the Shiv-Durga-Hanuman Mandir in Parsudih Society Colony, narrator Acharya Prasann Kumar Shastri dwelt on the greatness of Govardhan Dharan Lila, Sudama Charitra, Shri Shukdev Vidai, Vyas Pujan and Katha Vishram.
Shastri stated, “True friendship as between Lord Krishna and Sudama is unwavering and all the wealth of the world cannot break this bond.”
He explained how Lord Krishna, even in the midst of his household, set up his ideals and philosophy. The excellent modulation of his voice that the Acharya used to explain Sudama’s character, brought tears to the eyes of devotees who listened with rapt attention.
Acharya Prasann Kumar Shastri told the devotees that those who listened to the Bhagwat Katha throughout the week would be absolved of the sins of each rebirth. For the benefit of all, he summarized the teachings through the week for the benefit of those who could not attend every session. “I have summarized the Bhagwat teachings that I explained through these seven days especially for the benefit of those who could not attend the complete session.
Even they will be blessed who have listened to the summary with reverence,” and added, “God comes to earth from time to time in many avatars to wipe out sin. Once God comes down on earth, He too reveres His Guru. The blessings of a true guru make life worthwhile. In this modern age (Kali Yuga) respect and reverence towards parents and gurus absolve people of their sins.”
