Jamshedpur, Feb 13: The TRF Ladies Association successfully collected 164 units of blood at ‘Navjeevan’, the blood donation camp organized on Thursday, Feb 13 in TRF
premises. The TRF Ladies Association (TRFLA) which is the corporate social responsibility arm of the company collected 171 units of blood in ‘Navjeevan’, in the previous camp organized by it on August 22, 2013. The donors comprising mainly of TRF employees and its associates gave blood voluntarily at the camp. The camp was organized with the active support of members from the Voluntary Blood Donors’ Association and the Blood Bank of Jamshedpur.

The blood donation camp was jointly inaugurated by Hemant Kharkar, COO, TRF, R Pandey, President, TRF Labour Union and PK Tibdewal, COO, TRF along with RK Rahi,, TRF Labour Union and Mrs P Kharkar, President, TRFLA. Kharkar, who was the chief guest for the occasion, said that blood donation was an extremely noble act as it helped to save life and enabled those
suffering from critical health problems to recover. He acknowledged the role of the TRF Ladies
Association for regularly organizing blood donation camps in the Company.

Speaking on the occasion, Rakeshwar Pandey, TRF Labour Union said donating blood was important especially for those who are unable to regenerate blood on their own. He added that every
donor must feel proud about his donation and hoped that large numbers of employees would donate blood and make the camp successful. He lauded the role of the TRF Ladies Association in organizing numerous community development activities, including the blood donation camps.

Speaking earlier, Dr (Mrs) Archana Srivastava welcomed the donors and thanked the Voluntary
Blood Donors’ Association and Jamshedpur Blood Bank for their contribution in organizing ‘Navjeevan’. She also spoke on the “power of 49” campaign initiated by the Tata Group with the aim of mobilizing women voters who constitute 49% of the electorate to cast their vote in the forthcoming general elections.
