Jamshedpur : Three days training programme on Blood Safety for Staff Nurses working in Blood Banks, Hospital and Public Health Centre of the different district organized by Jharkhand State AIDS Control Society in coordination with Jamshedpur Blood Bank will conclude tomorrow.
On second day of ongoing training program for staff nurses of different blood bank and primary health centres at Jamshedpur Blood Bank participants were made aware about ABO and Rh blood grouping system, Need and Criteria for setting up a blood storage centres, basic principles of Immunohematology and Elisa. All session were taken by Dr Vineetha Kamath, Medical Officer, Jamshedpur Blood Bank.
In the later part, Mr Sunil Mukherjee, Founder President of Voluntary Blood Donors’ Association has presented his deliberation about donor motivation and promotion of voluntary blood donation.
The training has been initiated with a purpose maintain uniformity amongst all the Blood banks as per the Drugs & Cosmetic Rules and National Blood Transfusion Council Guidelines.
The three days training module will cover all the aspects of blood banking from blood collection to disposal till the blood reaches the bedside of the patients. Total 20 Staff Nurses from 16 districts are participating in the programme.
