Jamshedpur, Feb 13: A girl from Anandpur village of Chhapra district in Bihar came to her maternal aunt’s residence in Hot Charlie village in Galudih to pursue her studies. But, as she told the villagers and the police, her aunt detested her studies and had threatened to burn her text books. She stated that she was constantly nagged and mentally tortured by her aunt and unable to bear it any longer, she ran away from her aunt’s house.

The girl stated that her father is mentally ill and her mother suffers from vision deficiency. The atmosphere at her native home was not conducive to her educational pursuit and thus she landed at her maternal aunt’s home so that she could continue her studies. But her aunt’s attitude saw her deserting that house.

The residents of Khariadih Sabar colony saw her weeping near a canal. She narrated her woes to them who took her to the Mukhiya of the village. After hearing the girl out, the Mukhiya took her to the Galudih police station. After listening to her predicament, the police have informed her family.
