Decision was unanimous, Head Coach, captains, players, support staff happy

Jamshedpur, Oct 17: Jamshedpur FC’s squad and technical staff came up with a unanimous decision to name Tiri, Piti and Memo as the three Club captains.

The Club’s Head Coach, Antonio Iriondo decided to take the opportunity of having multiple captains for the squad this season and held a secret vote in the Jamshedpur FC Facility where players chose their captains.

On the thought process behind choosing multiple captains instead of one, Antonio said, “I want leaders in the team, every player at every time has to have the capacity to show leadership, but these are the three players who will be the captains. I also wanted to consider opinions of the players and know their criteria of who should be captain.”

The Head Coach explained the roles and functions of the captains while stating, “All three will represent the players, both before the club as well as the technical staff and be examples of behavior on and off the field.”

On being chosen as one of the captains and leading the team for the third season in a row Tiri exclaimed, “I am happy! But above all, I want to thank my teammates and technical staff for the trust they have reposed on me! I will try to help the team with everything they need at any time. And this season I will be supported by Memo and Piti. They are two players with a lot of experience and they will be of immense help in making every aspect fruitful.”

Just like Tiri, Memo Moura also enters his third season in Jamshedpur and is determined to do well as captain. He said, “I am happy to be one of the three representatives of the group as captain. To be a leader is to be an example to help, to unite, to achieve glory together so that Jamshedpur comes out stronger during another season.”

Piti, who comes with massive experience having played a number of seasons in La Liga, was happy to take this opportunity. He said, “At the end of the day, the most important thing is to have a strong and united team to make a great season. I hope my experience will help the squad. I am looking forward to lead them with Tiri and Memo.”
