Jamshedpur, May 22: Three corona positive cases were reported in West Singhbhum’s Chaibasa on Friday, May 22 taking the total tally to four in the district. All the three positives are migrants who had returned to the district from outside Jharkhand. After they returned back to Chaibasa their swab sample was taken and they were kept at the quarantine centre at Divisional Training Centre. On Friday when their report came positive they were shifted to COVID-19 Hospital in Chakradharpur were one other corona patient is undergoing treatment.
The first COVID-19 case was reported in West Singhbhum on May 18 where a 22 year old youth from Gua who arrived on May 14 from Chennai tested positive. He was sent to the quarantine centre at Chaibasa immediately upon his arrival in the district and he tested positive after his samples were checked on Monday, May 18.
On the other hand, another corona positive case in Jamshedpur (East Singhbhum) on Friday swelled the corona tally to 17. The latest reported COVID-19 positive case pertains to a Jugsalai lady who had returned from Kolkata on May 16 and kept in the Loyola School quarantine centre from where she was shifted to the one in Kadma. Her tests proved corona positive and she was shifted to the COVID Ward of Tata Main Hospital (TMH) today. Kolhan which comprises of East Singhbhum (17 cases), West Singhbhum (4 cases) and Seraikela-Kharsawan (4 cases) takes the total to 25 positive cases.
