Jamshedpur, Sept 21: City police arrested three members of a notorious gang of criminals in a series of raids conducted in Mango, Olidih, Azadnagar and MGM police station areas on Saturday.
Those arrested were identified as Pradip Singh, Amit Singh alias Bada Mundi and Amarjeet Prasad, all residents of Mango. They also confiscated two loaded pistols, bullets, 24 packets of brown sugar, 385 gram ganja (cannabis), a sharp weapon, cash worth Rs 1495 and a mobile phone.
According to SSP Anoop Birtharay, police had got a tip-off about the accused persons being present at a hideout in Govindpur and Mango. Soon, several teams were formed to bust these hideouts, he said.
During interrogation, the gang members reportedly confessed their involvement in the illegal trade of narcotic substances in and outside the city. The gang members are also involved in numerous other illegal activities, police said.
