Former CM Arjun Munda helps victims
Jamshedpur, Jan 16: Three persons died while three others got critically injured in a collision between two motorcycles on the Kharsawan-Amda main road in Seraikela-Kharsawan on Wednesday.
One of the deceased was identified as Dhano Hembram.
Former Chief Minister Arjun Munda, who happened to pass by the place of accident, helped the victims reach hospital.
Sources said the mishap occurred in the afternoon when two motorcycles ran into each other at high speed near Dharamdih village. One of the injured died on being taken to Seraikela Sadar Hospital while two others died on their way to Jamshedpur.
Sources said the victims were taken to Jamshedpur in the former CM’s car. Munda was returning from Khuntpani block after participating in a programme. On seeing the accident victims, he stopped his vehicle and rushed them to the hospital, sources said.
All victims were returning home after celebrating Makar Sankranti and Maghe Parv with their local relatives. Police suspect the mishap occurred due to drink driving.
