Jamshedpur, May 24: Chakradharpur on Sunday reported three new corona positive taking the West Singhbhum district tally to seven. The three new patients have retuned back from Mumbai and were admitted to state quarantine centre. Of the three new corona positives one is new mother who retuned along with six migrants. After their reports tested positive on Sunday the patients have been admitted to COVID-19 Special Railway Hospital and are undergoing treatment.
According to reports, one of the positive was quarantined at Madhusudhan Mahato School, second at Toklo Middle School and the third patient was in quarantine at Kuisuda Middle School. All the three have travel history and retuned back to Chakradharpur from Mumbai on May 17. After thermal screening they were sent to quarantine centre. As all the migrants returned from Red Zone, the administration had taken swab sample of migrants on May 18 and had sent it to MGM Hospital in Jamshedpur. Their report came positive after six days on May 24. The first COVID-19 case was reported in West Singhbhum on May 18 where a 22 year old youth from Gua who arrived on May 14 from Chennai tested positive. He was sent to the quarantine centre at Chaibasa immediately upon his arrival in the district and he tested positive after his samples were checked on Monday, May 18.
Three other corona positive cases were reported in West Singhbhum’s Chaibasa on Friday, May 22. All the three positives are migrants who had returned to the district from outside Jharkhand. After they returned back to Chaibasa their swab sample was taken and they were kept at the quarantine centre at Divisional Training Centre. On Friday when their report came positive they were shifted to COVID-19 Hospital in Chakradharpur were one other corona patient is undergoing treatment.
