President’s post abolished on Sen’s retirement

Jamshedpur, Sept. 30: Anand Sen, President, TQM & Steel Business, Tata Steel retired on Monday. September 30, 2019 was his last day in office. On the last day he went to the company completed his pending work, met employees and team members after which he was given a warm send-off. Emotions ran high on the final day for Anand Sen where he spent nearly 38 years of his life. 

Anand Sen joined Tata Steel as a graduate trainee in the year 1981 and held the posts of Manager in Jamshedpur and Sales Manager, Area Sales Manager in Delhi, Chief of Strategic Planning and Corporation Marketing and Chief Marketing again in the city. He was elevated as the Vice-President (Flat Products) of the company in the year 2004.    In 2008 Sen was made Vice-president (TQM and Flat Products). He was counted among the top rated officers in the company. After TV Narendran was appointed the Managing Director of Tata Steel a President’s post was created in the year 2013 to give Sen the honour he deserved and was made President, TQM & Steel Business, Tata Steel.

Anand Sen held the post of President and with his retirement this post has also been abolished in Tata Steel. Meanwhile, Anand Sen will continue to hold the position of Board Member at Tata Bluescope, Tinplate, Nat Steel, Bhusan Plant and Jamshedpur Continuous Annealing & Processing Company Pvt. Ltd. (JCAPCPL).  Sen is also a board member at Xavier Institute of Management, popularly known as XIMB, situated in Bhubaneswar.

It may be mentioned here that Anand Sen was the president of Jharkhand Boxing Association from 2005 to 2019. He was given a farewell by the Association on Sunday, September 29. He presented a cheque of Rs 1,00, 01, 01 to the Boxing Association.
