Jamshedpur, June 4: A tripartite meeting held between the education department, Sikhsha Satyagraha organisation and Tarapore School ended on a positive note. The protest has been currently averted with the intervention of the District Education Superintendent. The school management has agreed to give more time to the parent to clear their fees.
In this case, the Siksha Satyagraha organisation had announced the begging movement in support of children. A written complaint was given by Ankit Anand to the department in the case including the Chief Minister of the state, the Education Minister, and had requested for appropriate action against the school management. Taking cognizance of the complaint, the Jharkhand Police Headquarters had directed the DC and SSP to take necessary action to take action against the school.
The District Education Superintendent gave an opportunity to the tripartite talks in the departmental office on Thursday, giving the school management an opportunity to present its case before taking action in the matter.
The talks, chaired by District Education Superintendent Vineet Kumar, included Tarapore School Chairman Bailey Bodhanwala, Satyagraha representatives Appu Tiwari, Ankit Anand and Praveen Prasad. The parent, citing his financial condition and health, said that it was not possible for him to pay the lump sum fees. Tarapore School Chairman Bailey Bodhanwala said that the school management is ready to give an extension but no firm assurance can be given on the waiver of fees. On behalf of Shiksha Satyagraha, Ankit Anand said that the school management should be generous in giving sympathetic consideration to the request of the parents and give them some time so that fee payment can be possible in four to five instalment.
