Jamshedpur : Subhash Yuva Manch (SYM) organized its 30th week of serving free dinner to underprivileged people. Under the programme ‘Anand Bhoj: Ek Jung Bhukh Ke Khilaaf’, the organization strives to eradicate hunger by feeding the underprivileged masses every Tuesday. The beneficiaries include auto-drivers, coolies, and other manual labourers.
Paras Nath Mishra, an assistant professor at Arka Jain University, is the man behind this campaign. He has always had an inclination towards social work. Through Subhash Yuva Manch, he has conducted various social work related activities. Paras Nath Mishra started the organization all alone a few years ago but his single handed endeavour has motivated various young people who have joined him in his social mission. He dreams of eradicating hunger and starvation from society, and thus he came up with the idea of Anand Bhoj on 2nd October, 2018, on the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti.
Apart from feeding the poor, the organization also provides financial assistance to poor girls for their marriage. On Tuesday, Subhash Yuva Manch organized the wedding of Poonam Kumari with Chhotu Yadav of Jhargram. Paras Nath Mishra revealed that Poonam’s father Tej Bahadur Yadav had approached him for financial assistance for his daughter’s marriage. This was the 20th marriage organized by the organization and it took place at Sai Mandir, Bagbera Railway Colony.
Paras Nath Mishra said, “One of the special features of Anand Bhoj is that we don’t let the poor feel that they are underprivileged. We sit and eat with them with a feeling of inexplicable joy. I don’t want anyone to sleep hungry and my goal is to end starvation”
The work done by Subhash Yuva Manch has been appreciated by various people in Jamshedpur and the organization aims to achieve the uplift and welfare of poor through the medium of social work.
