Jamshedpur: National Creativity Olympiad 2019 started with inaugural function which included safety briefing followed by presentation of bouquet to the Chief Guest and lighting of the lamp after which there was a welcome address by Anurag Agnihotri , Chief , IT project, Tata Steel .
The students were briefed about the competition by co-ordinator of the test from NIT Jamshedpur.
Prof Anil Choudhary, Organising secretary introduced the Chief Guest Sudhansu Pathak, V.P, Steel Manufacturing, Tata Steel.
Pathak spoke about the eminent topics like importance of creativity and practical experience in student life. Prof. Shalendra Kumar, NIT, Jamshedpur gave the vote of thanks. The inaugural programme concluded with the national anthem.
The students coming from all across the country featuring six schools from Jamshedpur and fourteen schools from various cities from India like Tirupati, Kanpur , Patna, Alligarh, Durgapur, Bokaro, Dhanbad, Chaibasa, Ranchi, Sunabeda (Odhisa) , Bubhaneswar etc. participated.
The students were briefed about the problem statement of the model making competition by the co-ordinators of the test. The theme of the event was “Exploiting Fluid power” and so the students were expected to make a bridge model which operated from hydraulic power in five hours, the event featured a great working atmosphere and sportsman ship was shown by the students, ample amount of resources was provided for the construction purpose.
After the model making there was a short written test in which the students were asked simple question with the concepts related to model.
After the test there was a cultural programme for students those who participated in the Olympiad. The students from cities outside Jamshedpur relished the competition and cherished the cultural programme.
Tomorrow there will be indirect domain which will feature only students from Jamshedpur in the senior (IX – XII) and junior group (class VI-VIII) and in the evening there will be a felicitation ceremony from 6.30 PM to 7.30PM.
