Jamshedpur: Acharya Prasann Kumar Shastri enthralled devotees at the Shiv-Durga-Hanuman Mandir in the Society Colony in Parsudih while narrating the story of Lord Krishna’s childhood pranks. This was the sixth day of the Srimad Bhagwat week.
He explained that Lord Krishna planned with his friends to steal pots of butter from the homes of the Gopinis and then have their fill of the delicacy, feed the birds and animals and spread the ‘loot.’ “Of course Lord Krishna did not need to do all this for he had nine lakh cows at home. But he did this to feed his friends and delight the Gopinis.
When mother Yashoda lovingly scolded Him for his pranks, He used to lovingly reply, ‘Why don’t you see that the Gopinis are fat like elephants while I am like the fawn of a deer. They don’t need the butter. You are so simple hearted that you believe everything that is said against me.’ Mother Yashoda used to smile and draw the Child Krishna to her heart.”
